Trying to be cool on Telemark... and not succeeding

This picture may look odd, but I was trying to see the bottom of my skis. See, I am not familiar with my tele skis like I am with my alpines. So I wanted to know what the bottom looks like.

We enjoyed skiing with Jeremy, Meredith and Matt. Meredith and Matt flew from Boston to come skiing in Utah. My number one reason for choosing deer valley was that I really wanted a baked potato. Have you ever had them? They are HUGE and you can put whatever you want on it... even deer Valley's famous turkey chili. As you can see from this picture Patrick and I get pretty silly on the slopes.

Want to see what Matt and Meredith look like with all their ski clothes on? Well, here you go!

Telemark skiing is a lot more exhausting than Alpine skiing. It takes a lot more muscle... all the time. The only time I feel that kind of burn on alpine is in the bumps. But, on tele I felt the burn all day. By the last run this picture demonstrates the only way that I knew how to stop.

These are our friends from left to right: Matt, Meredith, and Jeremy!
