June Poll Closes

The June Poll was a funny one because I asked for your predictions. How many teeth will Alex have in August. The thing is it still isn't August. So I am watching as our predicitions are proven one by one to be incorrect. I voted that he would still have only one tooth. And well, only one person voted for that. One person guessed that he would have two teeth... I am thinking this is probably Patrick.Three people voted that he would have three teeth. All of these people are already wrong.

Alex curently has four teeth. And It's only July second. So, somewhere there are four people who are currently correct thinking he won't grow another tooth between now and then. And some where some one is wishing that he will get another one.

May poll: When are we old?

Well, this is a May poll I don't intend to dance around.

When do you consider someone old?
18 1 (5%)
30 1 (5%)
When you/they forget how old they are 7 (41%)
When they make cookies for neighbor children 1 (5%)
When they buy a sedan 1 (5%)
When they back into parking spots 6 (35%)

Honestly, I live by the motto you are only old when you think it or act like it. But I have to admit backing into parking spots is something that well, I call grandma parking. (Sorry Heather!)
And maybe someday I will have neighbor children to make cookies for... although these days with the peanut allergy scare no one would eat them anyway... even if they weren't peanut cookies.
18? 30? Come on, people... that has to be my mom or dad goofing around with the poll. But if it is not SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. Whoever thinks that age is what makes you old has never met Ryan Livingston's grandpa who can still ski better than most people and he is in his eighties... or Patrick's grandpa who go the the gym and lifts weights daily.
I think that forgetting someones age can happen at any time in life. I forget people ages all the time, and sometimes my own. Actually, right now I can't remember how old Patrick, Catherine, Melissa, Mom, Dad, or Laura are... I guess either I am old or not good with numbers. Sometimes and this has happened ever since I turned 20, I forget my own age and I am off, plus or minus a year. Hey I am in my twenties, is there really any need to be precise? This was a problem when I tutored elementary school kids. Becuase, third grader takes it as a serious offense if you confuse them for a second grader.

April Poll

So,I wasn't sure about the nutrition habits of my family and friends. I thought that this month's poll would give an idea of how well people eat in the morning. I was suprosed to find that most people eat HEALTHY stuff for breakfast.

I want you to know I am very proud of you... I am not one of you... but I am proud of you. Next came my kindred spirits those of us who eat yummy cereal. I think that most yummy cereal is still pretty healthy. My Lucky Charms box says that there is a whole serving of fruits and veggies in it, as well as the fact that it is iron fortified!

Then there are those of you who eat toast for breakfast. I know that the results show that three of you choose toast... but I suspect that all three votes may have been Patrick. I didn't know that toast qualified as a stand-alone meal until I we got married. If he could, he would eat toast every single day. And if you ask him, toast is his favorite food. He likes bread that has been dried and made crunchy for breakfast. And there are many days when he will eat buttered toast and not have time for a glass of milk or juice with it. On these days I have asked, "Patrick doesn't toast make you thirsty?" His response is, "I put enough butter on it that I should be ok." As a matter of fact, he not only eats toast for breakfast but often with his lunch, dinner and almost daily as a midnight snack.

Lastly, I have one word repeated three times, for the anonymous person who didn't eat breakfast: shame, shame, shame.

March Poll Closes

According to the March poll our readers think Alex looks more like mommy that daddy. This is a dramatic switch from the day he was born. On that day some one said, "Oh I am so sorry Patricia, he doesn't look at all like you!" HA HA!Thank you genetics. We will try this poll again in the future and see if it changes.

Results are In

In a February vote we asked which people prefer donuts or bagels. Donuts led in 14-10victory over the bagels. Donuts dominated in the start of the month and held on to their lead until the end of the month. With each passing week the gap between the pastries popularity widened. Way to go DONUTS!!!!
