F Football Finale... WE WON!!!!!

Superbowl Hysteria

Unfortunately this really hot girl is not me... it is Cassi. She and her husband Jordan had us over for the superbowl. We had the most amazing parade of food. Cassi made a seven layer dip, had more sodas than I can name, she had chips and hummus and she baked the most amazing brownies ever. (She said that it wasn't her and that just the recipe was good... whatever that is not true. I ate six brownies during the superbowl and I had a stomachache afterwards.) She even decorated with football feild tablecloths.



I won the game prediction because I was the only one who chose the Giants to win. I know that all my neighbors will read this and be extremely offended now that I live in Boston. But comeone, If this were a movie the Patriots would be bad guys. Unstoppable, cheaters, glamorous, intimidating... I had to cheer for the Giants. I don't have it in me to be a "bandwagoner"... plus I am still bitter that the Eagles sucked it up this season. So, I got a big bag of Dove chocolate bars. Ha Ha Ha GO GIANTS! Frnakly the Giants kicked Patriot butt!



Ok, I have decided if the Eagles ever make it to the superbowl again in my lifetime I am going! (First we need a better offensive line... and more ball handlers... frankly Westbrook can't carry the team by himself... and McNabb chokes underpressure... he is a huge dissapointment.)



So Alex had a really good time until Patrick got mad at the game and shouted at the tv. Alex was convinced that Patrick was yelling at him. So, I held Alex as he cried uncontrollably. Then I got Patrick a bottle and he fed Alex and talked calmly to Alex and tried to convince Alex that it was ok. It was pretty funny. Alex usually really likes chaos and pandemonium. Evidently, he doesn't like it coming from his dad.

Fight Eagles Fight!!!!!!

For our anniversary, Patrick gave me Eagles tickets. So, we left Alex with Chris and Brooke Jarrett. (They should be sainted. We dropped him off at 5:00 am and we picked him up at 12:45 am. He evidentaly had a grumpy day.)We drove six hours and got to the game in Philly early. We got to see real Philly fans at work. we were down by a lot at the half and we won at the end. When they pulled Mcnabb off the feild at the end of the first half people shouted, "I hope he never plays another down!" I have to say it was harsh but I kind of agree. Mcnabb is really unreliable and he doesn't play well under pressure. Besides, he hasn't been the same after his injuries last year... I think he is done. Any way we had a great time. It was former BYU QB John Beck's first game playing for the dolphins. I thought it was a riot that I was cheering against him again. We had so much fun! It rained and was cold and we snuggled the whole game. It reminded me of the BYU Utah game that Patrick and I went to in 2004. The weather was just as cold, but the game was just as much of a thrill. We kissed when the clock ran out and I cried tears of joy for the win... just like in '04. I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we were singing the fight song. I was so cold my face was frozen but atleast it was in a frozen smile.

F Football Finals

Patrick's Section Football team beat Alex's Lowes in the Semi Finals!!!!!!!! With that as a fact does it really matter that we lost in the finals? I say no!The semi finals were on a cold wet and rainy night. The following afternoon the finals were on a beautiful day... although it was freezing cold outside. Patrick brought his camera and took some great picks of teh final game. Way to go section J. They were undefeated for two years. Maybe next year section f will take it all the way! I do have to say one thing about section J... you guys were the most violent flag footballers I have ever seen. Oh well, I guess that is what happens when the team is made of some ex college football players.

Strawberry Limeade is my FAVORITE

It rained, it snowed, and then we got sunburns. That is the best way to describe the weather this week. Monday was sunny and beautiful, but it began to be cloudy and rainy by Tuesday. Wednesday night, Patrick and I visited Park City to see his mom who had just had surgery. There was snow on the ground! Thursday was not as rainy but it was windy and cold. Friday was sunny again, but still pretty cold. Yesterday was a beautiful day, so Patrick and I went to the pool. We came home with sunburns.

This was a week of fun barbecues. On Thursday Patrick and I went to the Elders Quorum Ultimate Frisbee Barbecue. The rain cleared up just in time. It was chilly, but the guys were running around so much that they didn't seem to mind. On Friday we went to a Primary Barbecue. It was a party put on by Sherry to say good bye to Rachelle and I who are moving, and welcome to the new people being put into primary. Sherry's strawberry limeade was incredible.

After the Barbecue Patrick and I got to ride in our friends' new car and go to a movie. We went with the Luke and Brooke to see Bridge to Teribithia. I knew before hand that it was sad, so I thought that I would be OK. Nope, I balled through it. If you do not like sad movies... I do not recommend it. It was a good show but afterwards the car was very quiet, and we all felt depressed.

Saturday was a busy day. We went to our last birthing class. The class that we took was really fascinating. It was not so much a how to class it was a mix of biology and question answer style teaching. We got a tour of the hospital on Saturday and it was fun to peek in the nursery. After class we went to the pool. It was so beautiful outside. Patrick joined a high dive spin off competition with a bunch of other guys and it was funny to watch.

After the pool we raced home and changed because we had suite tickets to The Blaze game. We took Patrick's parents as a birthday present for Ted. (His birthday was in December.) The Blaze are Salt Lake's Arena Football league. Once you get used to the differences from regular football it is really fun to watch. They have 50-yard fields, an eight-player single-platoon system, drop kicks and rebound nets. As you can probably guess from the fact that there is a fifty yd field it is a fast paced game. In regular football especially in the NFL where the level of play is so advanced players are pigeon holed. Players spend their lives honing their bodies to play specific positions. However, in arena football you will not see 300+ pound linebackers. Yes many of the players are huge but most of them have to play both offense and defense and they are all expected to be able to run. We enjoyed watching the game despite the fact that The Blaze lost to the SaberCats.

As a side note our Jeep is all grown up now. Patrick had a 2.5 inch Teraflex lift put on it last Thursday. It rides so well. I can't wait to take it off road.
